It's been a pretty good couple of months of physical and mental recovery from the injury I wrote about last time. I've been playing music sparingly but I couldn't keep away from it for too long! I've gotten back to a bunch of clarinet and keyboard playing and a little bass clarinet. Other than playing those instruments, I've done quite a bit of arranging (for clarinet quartet - a project for some of my students for next year) and also just listening to music. Wow, imagine that! A few months into the pandemic, I realized I was hardly listening to music much anymore because of how little I was driving, the car being my most common venue for sitting and listening to music. But recently I've been able to get back into listening to music, both familiar and new, and that's been a joy.
Then on December 1, I turned my attention to Christmas music as well. Both listening to it and playing it around the house. I had been planning some live streaming shows for this fall, but since those didn't happen, I thought maybe a little Christmas streaming show could be just the thing! The problem was which Christmas songs and what instrument? Well, I think I've figured that out now but you'll have to come to the show to see for yourself. Hopefully next year I will be able to share lots more music with you.
